The Street Stock Division was the high-light of the day with the running of the fourth annual Cook’s Touch Restaurant – Mark Corbisiero Memorial 77-Lap Street Stock double points event. There were a number of cars on hand eager to make the show so three heat races were needed. Heat #1 began with the #42X of Dan Cascioli on the pole. There was only one caution flag and Cascioli lead every lap, winning Heat #1. The #13 of CJ Lehmann led the field to the start of Heat #2. Jimmy White Jr. in his #19X Monte Carlo took the lead on lap 2. The caution flag waved twice during this heat race. White Jr. comes across the finish line first, followed by the #461 of Rich DiMarco. As the rest of the field crossed the finish line, a four car wreck occurred on the front stretch. Involved was the #07 of Nick Gargiulo, the #42 of Jennifer Kutz, the #34 of Frank Katona, and the #4 of Kris Brazes. Gargiulo and Brazes would be done for the day. The #12 of Brian Sones was on the pole for Heat #3, but the #14 of Frank Reakes had the lead by the end of lap one. One caution flag waved during this event and Reakes was the winner. With 25 cars wanting into the main event, a Consolation race had to be run. The #44c of Chip Wanamaker would win that event.

The #42X of Dan Cascioli would lead the field to the start of the Cook’s Touch Restaurant – Mark Corbisiero Memorial. On lap twelve, the #71 of Mike Schadder would bring out the first of eight yellow flags. On lap 29, the #12 of Brian Sones made his way around Cascioli for the lead after a heavy battle. He would be followed by the #461 of Rich DiMarco. DiMarco would take the lead away from Sones on the very next lap. While attempting to get the lead back, Sones would become one of the caution periods with a flat tire on the front stretch. Coming into this event, Frank Reakes in the #14 was the point leader. Reakes started smoking on lap 40. Three laps later, the #83 of Randy Ahner Jr. lost a tire in turn three bring out a caution flag. Reakes would come to a stop with a small fire under the hood of his machine and the red flag would come out instead. Reakes would have his day end there and lose the lead in the points. In the end, it was smooth sailing for young Rich DiMarco picking up another win in the Street Stock Division.

The Modifieds showed up in full force for Sunday’s events. Three heats were needed as well as a consolation race to sort out the field into their starting line-up for the main Feature event. Heat #1 was all Lou Strohl in the #8. Strohl had the pole and led the entire event. Heat #2 began with the #5 of Kyle Ebersole on the pole. The yellow flag did wave once during this event. On the last lap, the #22 of Zane Zeiner caught Ebersole and after a side-by-side battle it was Zeiner with the advantage and the win for Heat #2. Heat #3 was all Brian DeFebo in the #53, starting on the pole and leading every lap in the caution free heat race. The Consolation race run to fill the last five spots was led to its start by the #54 of Mike Bohn. Bohn led every lap and earned the win along with his way into the main event.

“Lightening” Lou Strohl in his sharp #8 held the pole position for the start of the Modified Feature event. As the field took the green flag for the start of the feature and came out of turn two, the #87 of Tommy Flanagan would come in contact with the #33 of Chaz Surman. Flanagan would get shot up into the wall on the back stretch and collect the #21 of Andy Walko in the process. Both Flanagan and Walko would be done for the night. On lap six, the #8p of Earl Paules brought out the caution flag for a smoke-filled spin out of turn four. With twelve laps to go, the battle up front was intense. Strohl had the lead, but the #53 of Brian DeFebo wanted it. Also wanting a shot for the lead was the #22 of Zane Zeiner and the #34 of Rusty Smith. Awesome side by side action was going on from first to fourth. DeFebo came out with the advantage and the lead on lap 29. Two more yellow flags would wave, however that did not slow down DeFebo. Brian DeFebo from Berwick PA picked up the feature win followed by Zeiner, Smith and Strohl.

The Late Model Division took to the track Sunday for two heat races to start their day. The #9 of Jim Yamelski from Hunlocks Creek started on the pole for Heat #1. Joe Hoffman in his #20 took that lead away on lap three however. The caution flag waved once during the heat race for a spin by the #3 of Colin Dempster on the back stretch. Hoffman wins Heat #1. Yamelski finished third behind the #19 of Larry Fisher. The #69 of Glenn Heckman from Walnutport began Heat #2 in the first starting position. On lap five, the #15 of Joe Brown got underneath Heckman taking the lead away and brought the #D11 of Mike Sweeney along with him sending Heckman back to third. Brown wins Heat #2.

The Late Model feature was set to begin with Jim Yamelski in the #9 on the pole. Once the field took the green flag, Yamelski got a flat right front tire, knocking him out of the lead and scraping the back stretch wall. The second position starter Glenn Heckman in the #69 would receive some damage on his front nose as he made contact with the slowing Yamelski machine. This incident would result in a complete restart minus Yamelski. By the completion of lap one, the #20 of Joe Hoffman would be in the lead. The yellow flag would wave for the first time due to the #99 of Tom Flanagan. The #8 of Kyle Harvell brought out the next yellow flag on lap fifteen as he spun around and backed it into the wall in turn three. The #3 of Colin Dempster spun on the front stretch under this caution while checking up. Two laps later the caution flag waved again, this time for a spin in turn three by the #35 of Joseph Burns. The last caution flag waved on lap 21 for the #D11 of Mike Sweeney who spun in turn three. During this caution period, the leader Hoffman had to pit, giving up the lead to the #19 of Larry Fisher. Fisher had made his way into second by lap six from his seventh starting spot. With five laps to go in the feature, the battle was between the #15 of Joe Brown and the #3:16 of Jerry Brighthaupt for the second position. Brown kept the second post and Brighthaupt finished third as the #19 of Larry Fisher earned his fourth win of the 2007 season.

The 4 Cylinder Thrillers took to the track without any heat races. Sitting on the pole was the #22 of Jess McGlynn followed by the #19DD of Jimmy White Jr. Both White and McGlynn would get together on lap one making contact with the wall in turn three. McGlynn would be done for the day. This gave the lead to the #29L of Gene Lash. Point leader Travis Fisher in the #8 would make his way around Lash on the next lap taking over the lead. The #63 of Nikki Wachs would also get around Lash. The yellow flag waved again on lap three when Lash would make contact with Wachs, spinning her into the wall coming out of turn four. Wachs would be fine, receiving minimal damage. Lash, however, would be disqualified from the event for unsportsmanlike conduct. The last caution flag waved on lap four for Jimmy White Jr., who had been involved in the lap one incident. White would lose a tire in turn one and would retire from the feature event. As the laps dwindled down, Fisher would have the #57 of Eric Wink glued to his bumper. Wink could not get around Fisher and was challenged by Nikki Wachs. Wachs had made her way back up to third after having to start at the rear from her earlier incident. Wink finished second and would hold Wachs to third. Travis Fisher picks up his eleventh win of the 2007 season.

The Modifieds ran a double feature this past Sunday as they made up their rain-delayed feature from August 25, 2007. Three heat races had been run on the 25th to set the starting line-up for this event. The #4 of Barry Callavini won Heat #1 with the #19 of Larry Fisher in second. The #22 of Zane Zeiner won Heat #2 with the #87 of Tommy Flanagan finishing second. Finally the winner of Heat #3 was the #33 of Chaz Surman, with the #53 of Brian DeFebo finishing second.

On the pole for the make up feature was the #4 of Barry Callavini. As Callavini led the field around to complete lap one, second place starter #87 Tommy Flanagan took the lead away. The #14 of Keith Bachman spun coming out of turn two which brought out the caution flag. He would spin again in turn four on lap fifteen. During the restart after this caution period, the #28 of CJ Jones would get into the wall on the backstretch. This would keep the yellow flag displayed. On lap 21, the #6R of Rodney Gruber and the #79 of Jason Arthoefer make contact and Gruber ends up spinning around in turn four. This would bring out the caution flag again. Two laps later the yellow flag waved for a spin by the #53 of Brian DeFebo. DeFebo had checked up and the #8p of Earl Paules made contact with him as a result. While all this was going on, Zane Zeiner in his yellow #22 made his way up to second. Zeiner was side by side with the leader Flanagan on lap 25. Zeiner got a nose out in front of Flanagan for the lead on the next lap and had him cleared by the end of lap 27. DeFebo would have a problem again as contact from the #8 of Lou Strohl sends DeFebo into the back stretch wall on lap 37. The caution period set up a green-white-checker finish and current point leader Zane Zeiner from Bath Pennsylvania emerged victorious.
